KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL is an annual festivity in Davao City, held every third week of August as a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature and bountiful harvest, the tranquility of living and the wealth of culture. Kadayawan is derived from the local dialect’s greeting “Madayaw”, from the Dabawenyo word “dayaw” which means good, valuable, superior or beautiful. Three of its major events within the week-long celebration are the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan, Pamulak sa Kadayawan, and Hiyas sa Kadayawan.
