Upholding Traditions: Resuming the Annual DBS Kadayawan Dinner to Connect with Brands and Friends

The Davao Bloggers Society just held its annual Kadayawan dinner with the brands, visiting bloggers, and influencers near and dear to the org’s heart. DBS has not been able to do so during the height of the pandemic because of the restrictions but we have finally managed to do it again this year. It has been a longstanding tradition for DBS to host a thanksgiving dinner for all of the friends we’ve made as a way to show our appreciation for them and to connect with those that we have come to know and have worked with us in our journey as content creators and growth as a group.

The DBS Kadayawan dinner was held at Nonong Alexis Grill in Tulip Drive, Davao City and we invited brands such as Sox Bloggers, Selrahco, Cebu Pacific Air, Home Credit PH, Teleperformance Philippines, My Skin Origins, Ipanema Philippines, Canon Philippines, and PLDT Home. It was a very casual event and we had no agenda for the evening but to have fun, enjoy good food and great company. It was a lot of sharing information about Davao and Kadayawan to the visiting guests. Mainly all about activities to enjoy during Kadayawan, where to eat unlimited Durian, must- see places, resto recommendations and shopping for
pasalubong.

A lot of the attendees had to travel far to be at the dinner and we truly felt touched at the effort they put into being there with us. Some of them even flew in from Manila just to connect with the org. It was a cozy dinner made even better with good conversation. Even making plans to hang out again soon whenever any of them were in Davao.

The buffet spread was absolutely divine. We had Nonong’s Special Beef Caldereta, Chicken Fillet in White Sauce, Lumpiang Shanghai with Cheese, Kinilaw na Malasugue, and Buko Pandan for Dessert. Everything tasted amazing and the servings per tray were really generous. The staff serving us that night were so efficient and accommodating. The venue, the sumptuous dishes, and the topnotch service really made a good impression on everyone that was there. Nonong Alexis Grill is certainly an excellent venue for exclusive events like the one we just had but a lot of people have already told us even before we had our dinner there that they serve really good food and the place is actually quite nice and spacious.

Our giveaways for the night were ethnic handbags with Lola Abon’s Original Durian Candy treats inside for the guests as well as Canon and Cebu Pacific gift bags. It was a lovely evening that everybody enjoyed and we hope to do it all again next year with even more friends and brands to touch base with.
