The Davao Blog Awards 2024: Nominees Who Shine Through Native Content

The Ber months have arrived, and with them comes the most-awaited Elegance in Tradition: A DBS Filipino Christmas Celebration, along with the annual Davao Blog Awards 2024 (DBA 2024). The award ceremony recognizes the best bloggers and content creators within the DBS community. It co-presented by Cebu Pacific and foodpanda.

This year's Davao Blog Awards is bigger than ever, with several nominations and new members in the running to receive the two top awards: the Cebu Pacific Davao Blogger of the Year and foodpanda Social Media Star of the Year. They are also vying for the niche awards category, showcasing their contributions to a particular niche.

Niche Blog Awards: Best Davao Gateway Blog, Best Lifestyle Blog, Best Travel Blog, Best Tech Blog, and Best Personal Blog.

Niche Influencer Awards: Best Davao Gateway Influencer and Best Lifestyle Influencer.

Emphasis on Consistently Creating Native Content

The Davao Blog Awards 2024 is organized by a new team featuring Board of Trustee Andrew dela Serna, DBS VP for External Affairs, NeP-C Ledesma, Secretary Pauline Balayon-Ruta, and Treasurer Athina Inting-Angliongto. The DBA committee has decided to highlight the importance of consistent native posting and relevance to a niche. The committee gave the DBS members extra time to create native content and provided them with native content guidelines that are applicable to their content creation journey, even with the absence of awarding ceremonies like the DBA.

The DBA committee also stressed that the two top awards, the Cebu Pacific Davao Blogger of the Year and foodpanda Social Media Star of the Year, will exclusively be granted to members who have consistently demonstrated their passion, drive, and commitment to producing native content. These nominees inspire others and contribute to the Davao Bloggers Society as a premier blogging organization without expecting any recognition or awards in return.

It was also highlighted that being nominated alone is a huge deal, especially since the nominees can campaign for themselves through art cards, gifs, reels, and other digital marketing media. While voting will be conducted exclusively within the organization, a nomination goes beyond bragging rights; it can land nominees with more brand deals and career advancement opportunities (they can always put it on their resumes).

Exciting prizes await the Cebu Pacific Davao Blogger of the Year winner: a Cebu Pacific flight to any domestic destination worth Php28,000, a trophy, a special item from The Primer Group, foodpanda voucher and gift pack and goodies from Apo ni Lola. The foodpanda Social Media Star of the Year will get a trophy, foodpanda voucher and gift pack, a Special item from The Primer Group, and goodies from Apo ni Lola. Lastly, the niche awardees will get a trophy, a foodpanda voucher and gift pack, and goodies from Apo ni Lola.

As of this writing, the campaign period is ongoing, and voting will be from November 18-22, 2024. The awarding ceremony will be held at the Elegance in Tradition: A DBS Filipino Christmas Celebration on November 30, 2024.
