A DBS Beach Acquaintance Party to Remember

Underneath the golden hues of a Samal sunset, the Davao Bloggers Society took the plunge into a new kind of celebration.

Held last June 21, 2025, at the breezy and beautiful Hamugaway Beach Resort, Beach, Please!, our first-ever beach-style Acquaintance Party, brought together almost 40 DBS members and their plus ones for an unforgettable afternoon of laughter, connection, and creativity.

From the moment everyone stepped onto the sand in their soft-hued pastel outfits, the energy was undeniable. Conversations flowed as freely as the ocean breeze, and for the first time, our annual gathering had the waves as witnesses to our growing, thriving creative community.

So why the shift from city lights to beach vibes this year? DBS President Gem put it best:

“We’ve always done our AP in the city, and now medyo challenging na jud to find new places to try. Since the members have always supported naman the officers’ plans, why not take AP to the next level and try something new? And since everyone loves the beach, ngano’ng di ta mag-organize ug the best summer ender event?”

And that’s exactly what we did.

One of the most memorable highlights? “Paint Me a Picture” is a fun and creative game where members and their plus ones take turns sketching each other, resulting in a gallery of spontaneous art, laughter, and new friendships. It was a vibrant reminder that in DBS, creativity always leads the way.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the fun only intensified. Raffle prizes, always a DBS favorite, brought excitement and cheer, thanks to our ever-generous sponsors. From gadgets to beauty bundles, snacks to exclusive staycations, the prizes this year were top-tier.

The location itself was pure perfection. Hamugaway Beach Resort offered not just a venue, but an experience, complete with tasty local dishes, an inviting atmosphere, and scenic beachfront that set the stage for every magical moment. The music set the vibe, the foam party unleashed the fun, and the beach lights? Absolutely perfect for golden hour snaps and seaside selfies.

Behind every unforgettable gathering is a team that makes the magic happen, and this year’s DBS officers did just that. From concept to coordination, they poured their heart, hustle, and humor into every detail. Their vision brought the beach party to life, and their commitment made sure every member felt seen, celebrated, and part of something special. Daghang salamat, officers! You made this wave worth riding!
