July is Nutrition Month, and what better way to celebrate it than by featuring a blogger who truly embodies wellness. Not just in food or fitness, but in how she lives, writes, and connects with others. This month, we shine the spotlight on Jamaica Bastasa, the voice behind This World Is My Runway, as she shares her thoughts on wellness, blogging, and finding joy in life’s little moments.
For Jamaica, wellness is not just about eating your greens or sweating it out in the gym. To her, wellness is also about feeling good inside and out. Having energy, peace of mind, and making every day’s little choices that keep her balanced.
“I don’t believe wellness should look the same for everyone,” she adds. “What matters is what feels right for you.”
Jamaica doesn’t follow rigid rules but strives for moderation. She keeps her rice intake in check, makes time for walking or jogging, and enjoys her food without guilt.
“If I treat myself to a heavy lunch like samgyupsal, I’ll usually skip dinner. It’s about balance, not perfection.”

Her comfort food? A warm bowl of Sinigang. Her essentials? Hydration, music, walks, and plenty of rest. And her advice for those starting their own wellness journey?
“Keep it simple and be kind to yourself. Progress is progress, no matter how slow. Focus on feeling better, not just looking different.”
When she started blogging, Jamaica felt pressured to write about every new restaurant or event. But over time, her focus shifted to more meaningful topics, such as emotional wellness, stress management, and finding joy in the little things.
Her proudest blogging moment remains her first-ever brand collaboration which was a Ligo Sardines review. It was simple, but it showed how far she had come. From blogging as a hobby to working with brands and growing creatively.

July is the perfect time for Jamaica to reset. She takes this opportunity to reflect, declutter, and spend more time offline. Sometimes, a quick coffee run or a solo walk is all she needs to recharge. One daily habit she swears by is taking a 10 – 15 minute walk or doing some stretches, which clears her mind, improves her mood, and gives her a little “me-time”.

Jamaica encourages aspiring lifestyle bloggers to just start and stay true to themselves. For her, a unique voice is a blogger’s superpower, and consistency does not mean posting every day, it is about showing up with intention. Her blogging journey became even more meaningful when she joined the Digital Bloggers Society (DBS), which has been a creative outlet and a supportive community. She loves the energy and inspiration during events, which keeps her motivated.

If she could plan a DBS event, she envisions a morning wellness walk or run with healthy snacks, mindfulness booths, and plenty of time for bonding.
“I’m also super sabaw sometimes,” she laughs. “But that’s part of who I am- just someone trying to live, laugh, and find balance.”

Jamaica’s journey reminds us that wellness and blogging alike are about balance, self-love, and staying true to yourself. Whether she is writing heartfelt posts, sipping coffee in a quiet café, or dancing (even just in her mind), she continues to inspire others to embrace life fully, with a good dose of humor and authenticity. Another thing her readers may not know is that she was once a dancer and a pageant contestant, and she still dreams of performing on stage someday.
