DBS Thanksgiving Dinner 2025: Gratitude, Goals, and Giving Back

It’s that time of the year again when the Davao Bloggers Society gives thanks for all the support that its beloved partners have always given to the organization. On August 26, 2025, the DBS’ Thanksgiving Day took place at Barok Cafe and Resto, where the DBS officers treated their partners, a few members, and other guests to a sumptuous dinner.

The annual DBS Thanksgiving Dinner is a chance for the DBS officers and members to also connect and strengthen bonds with the very brands that support their work. They mingled, shared stories, and built relationships beyond the online space. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to put a face to the names they see in emails and social media, driving a true sense of partnership.

The dinner was graced by representatives from notable brands and their lovely representatives:

  • Cebu Pacific Air (Jarren Mateo)
  • Hop Inn Hotels (Jeric Deyta and Fine Tambura)
  • foodpanda (Pau Bautista and Portia Amparo)
  • Waterfront Hotel Davao (Thea Dimaano, Bonizza Sarco, and Alec Gonzales)
  • Red Planet Hotels (Jade Budo and Krizia Dela Cruz)
  • MySkin Origins (Jennifer Rubia-Echano, Alan Exhano, and Dennis Rubia)
  • Primer Group (Mae Sanchez)
  • Likhang Lokal (Rafael Botero)

The event was also a joyous gathering of the blogging community, with special guests from the Kidapawan Bloggers Squad (Ace Llesol and Joseph Balansag) and SOX Bloggers (Ariel Lalisan) adding to the fun and friendly atmosphere.

Apart from everyone’s bond over the delicious food, DBS President Gem Tadefa and Auditor Pau Balayon-Ruta presented the organization’s plans for its upcoming Davao Bloggers Society Gala. Gem and Pau shared that all proceeds from the gala will be donated to SOS Village Davao to further enhance their library.

DBS has already made strides for SOS Village Davao, having previously donated books (care of Big Bad Wolf Books) and even partnered with Boysen to paint the library. However, to truly transform the space into a hub for learning and reading, more is needed. Gem and Pau’s presentation outlined the need for crucial items like better lighting, new tables, more chairs, and computers. The good news is that PLDT Home has already committed to providing the internet connection.

The partners in attendance were genuinely captivated by the presentation. The room was filled with nods of approval and genuine interest. Seeing the commitment from both the DBS and their partners to make a real difference was truly inspiring.

The DBS Thanksgiving Dinner was once again a huge success. The brand representatives were happy to be invited but also willing to spend their Saturday evening networking and celebrating with DBS.

The Davao Bloggers Society is always committed to using each of its members’ platforms for a great cause. Stay tuned for more updates.
